It's weird to release a record titled "tales of a beautiful life" during a worldwide pandemic, where life is anything but beautiful but the full story of tales of a beautiful life starts in spring 2016, even before my last album Altfeld was released under my previous name Splitter. At that time, I still thought I would do a 4-track EP about escapism and surrealistic mind spheres.

But when I got some tracks together, I noticed that there was a lot more to tell. My creativity awoke in my night and daydreams, my subconscious was much more interesting than my conscious mind. My dream world was more exciting than the real world. The Bridge Is Closed, Off World and Dark Room Under Stars are like dream diaries. I just wrote them down and it was interesting to not understand it.

I moved from Berlin to Augsburg in southern Germany, urban influences faded and I found inspiration in nature again. I always was a rational thinker but as this world started to bore me, I was ready to open my mind for things beyond rational.

With my music I always portrayed pictures or stories into soundscapes and until than those elements were rooted in explicit things. Like a heavy bass synth being the asphalt Altfeld was built on. But when I take a forest walk at nightfall, collecting field recordings and suddenly feeling like Chihiro discovering the spirit of an old river who is telling me that fall is about to come from distance how will it sound like? Or the wind farms all over the place in rural Germany that blink through night skies with their red beacon like a wind farm choir of light.

All tracks on this record hide a tale of indescribable beauty that I have encountered over the past five years. Some easily accessible, others totally weird without making any sense. Take some time to discover them and soon you will find yourself in a warm sunbeam of Nordsun.
